Father and son team Eamonn and Mark Cunningham who own the successful EJ Menswear men’s clothing store as well as ‘EJ’s Little Sister’,
a ladies fashion house , in Sligo town, official partners of the tournament, know marketing and they have been busy building a business in the Northwest and now online. They are also busy suiting and booting half of Kerry’s well known faces like Kieran Donaghy, sporting their suits regularly on Sky Sports GAA match day programmes, television presenter Dáithí Ó Sé , The Geaney Kerry-footballing brothers and many more.
There is a connection going back three generations between the families as Mark Cunningham spent many summers down in Árd a Bhóthair, Ventry in West Kerry in the house of the great Páidi Ó Sé. Peering up at Páidi’s All-Stars and All-Ireland medals in the cabinet of his home at the famous West Kerry crossroads, he didn’t quite understand the significance of what he was viewing.
Mark commented, “My grand aunt was a sister of Páidi’s mother Beatrice on my mother’s side of the family. We are all immensely proud of this relationship and It meant we got to spend time down there when Páidi was still a major GAA figure which was magical when I think back on it. We are delighted to continue a family connection. Kerry people are our number one customers online and it’s great that we can offer a ladies fashion offering with our store in Sligo now too.”
